Tough and Tougher

sa324-leftside

The Yanmar SA 325 and SA 425 tractors have the same frame and engine. The only significant difference is the size of their rear tires. The SA 425 has slightly larger tires offering higher ground clearance and a more aggressive design.

The SA Series has been on the market since 2014. It is built by Yanmar - a Japanese company with North American operations headquartered in Adairsville, Georgia. Yanmar has been in business since 1912 and developed the world’s first compact diesel engine.

Yanmar tractors are built for long and reliable service. Their 10-Year Powertrain Warranty demonstrates this.

Your Place

The SA Series is designed for properties under 25 acres. Don’t let that recommended acerage size target allow you to underestimate these rugged machines. They have the horsepower to get things done well. This includes their 1,200-pound front lift capacity.

Warranty

Yanmar can stand behind its product with a 10-year powertrain warranty because they produce the engine, transmission, chassis, and most of the parts that make up its tractors. This is the most extended warranty in the tractor industry. Also included with each tractor is a two-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. And unlike other manufacturers, Yanmar covers transportation costs for any warranty work needed in the first two years you own the tractor. No other manufacturer covers service calls as part of their warranty.

Engine

The SA 325 & SA 425 run on Yanmar’s world-renowned 1.3 Liter 3-cylinder diesel engine. Yanmar’s compact diesels are known for their fuel and power efficiency. They are used in various industries, including marine, industrial, construction, refrigeration, and other mobile and stationary applications.

Transmission

The SA series has a hydrostatic transmission with forward and reverse pedals for easy operation and no need to shift gears or clutch. The transmission has high and low ranges, with a neutral in between. With the tractor in a stopped position, you can shift the range lever without clutching.

Terrific Controls

The SA series has several simplified and handy transmission controls. These include:

  • Four-Wheel Drive
    • The four-wheel drive is selectable with a lever in front of and below the range lever.
    • The differential lock is in front of the four-wheel drive lever on the floor. When you press this pedal with your heel, the differential will lock so both rear tires spin in unison, allowing you to regain traction.

The SA 325 & 425 have an incredibly tight turning radius. The top speed of the tractor is 12.3 MPH in high range.

PTO

All Yanmar SA Series tractors have both a

  • Rear 540 RPM PTO and a
  • Mid 2,000 RPM PTO.

The 325 and 425 have the lever for selecting the active PTO just behind the range lever. This arrangement allows you to choose from just the rear PTO or both the mid and rear PTO.

Implement Control

Yanmar has developed an excellent control feature for the equipment working on the tractor's rear.

The control is designed to have implements at a precise and effective height.

These controls are easy to reach and help you get the needed results.

    Brakes

    • The brake is above the dual drive pedals.
    • The parking brake is engaged with a T handle in front of the loader joystick.

    Comfort

The SA 325 has a comfortably padded high-back seat with adjustable armrests and spring suspension underneath.

The floorboard is covered with rubber mats for comfort and superior grip.

The position of the seat and form factor of the tractor gives you a great line of sight around the entire tractor, and the proportions of the tractor concerning the operator are very ergonomic.

To the left of the driver’s seat, you have a cup holder and a generously sized cubby for tools; to the right, you have an even larger cubby for storage.

    Loader

The SA Series loader is an easily removable loader with pin-out legs for removal and an SA series pin-on 53” wide bucket compatible with Yanmar pallet forks and grapples. The front loader can lift 1200 pounds to full height, and along with the standard 4 axes of loader control, the loader valve has a float function, which is ideal for back dragging and spreading material with the loader bucket.

The loader has easy-to-access grease zerks along the outside of each pivot point. There is a level indicator to help you know the tilt angle of your bucket.

The loader joystick is routed through the fender well and positioned just off the armrest. It is a comfortable position for operating the loader. The joystick does have a locking pin that prevents the loader from moving if someone bumps the stick.

    Tires

    sa424-agressive-tires

The SA 325 & 425 come with standard-size tires in either an R1 Agricultural, R3 Turf, or R4 Industrial tread profile. The R4 is the most versatile. These R4 tires:

    • 23x8.5-12 in the front.
    • 33x12-16.5 in the rear.

The only difference between the 325 and the 425 is that the 425’s rear tires are 36x14-17.5. These taller tires give:

    • Higher ground clearance.
    • A slightly wider stance.
    • And a bit more stability.

    Mower

The SA series offers three choices for cutting grass. It offers:

    (1) Yanmar SA Mid-Mount Mower
