Have you ever heard of a Zetor Tractor? Here is an introduction to one of their mighty choices, the M25HT, at a price and setup you will enjoy.
It comes with all you see below at a price you will find worthy of respect.
M25HT
This tractor has many great features and packs serious power for its size.
Standard Features
One of the best things about the Zetor compact and subcompact tractors is the features they come with. The M25HT comes with
- A hydrostatic transmission with dual pedals.
- 2WD/4WD selectable.
- A Rear Dif-Lock.
- And amenities like rubber floor mats, a 12v outlet, a cup holder, and a small tool box.
Operator Controls
The layout of the control levers on the driver's left-hand side is where you’ll find:
- PTO selection options (Rear, Mid + Rear, and Mid).
- Range lever, which has a High and Low setting.
- And a 4WD and 2WD Selector Lever.
The fuel tank fuel cap is on the hood, which is excellent for a tractor of this size.
Service Opportunities
A design opportunity to improve the service of the M25HT is access to its engine. Removing and installing the tractor’s side panels on the tractor is more difficult when compared to other units in its category.
Deere and Yanmar have figured out how to make the engine more accessible. But if it saves you a lot of money, spending extra time to get the side panels is worth it.
A Stout Build With Notable Attachments
The M25HT body is made of metal, which is excellent for an economical tractor. The tractor model in this article comes with a Backhoe. The backhoe is designed to be relatively easy to remove and install.
A quick disconnect loader also comes with this tractor. It has a skid steer quick attach bucket. All these features make the Zetor M25HT hard to ignore, especially when presented with the price.
What is a Zetor?
The Zetor brand has been around since the 1940s. They have created some excellent tractors with over 70hp. Zetor is based in the Czech Republic, and one of their tractors is a memorizing classic. It is their 1968 Crystal Series.
The Crystal Series was an industry leader at the time because it was the first cab secured against toppling over. Mounting the cab on silent blocks made its comfort features stand out long before it was a thing.
A four-cylinder engine equipped with balancing spindles (another world first) made the Crystal Series stand out. Improved cab and engine design resulted in a noise level below 85 decibels inside the cab. The tractor’s square design gave it a distinctive look.
Zetor finally entered the United States market in 1983 after a rich history of selling innovative tractors worldwide.
Today's Tractor
All its design skills and performance criteria can be seen in today’s Zetor sub-compact tractor. The M25HT title describes how it fits in the Zetor lineup. The M in its title means it’s apart from the Major series. The Zetor Major series has a wide range of tractors from 22hp to 82hp.
Zetor manufactures its larger Major tractors in-house. This sub-compact is probably a rebranded Branson tractor. However, other than the appearance of the tractor, there is no evidence online to suggest it’s a Branson. It still meets the Zetor design philosophy of value through innovation and reliability.
Performance and Power
Now, let's dive into the performance of this tractor. A three-cylinder liquid-cooled Yanmar T4F diesel engine powers the M25HT. Because this is a 25HP tractor, there is no need for DEF or DPF filtration.
A hydrostatic drive provides power with two ranges. The top PTO horsepower is 20, with a total hydraulic flow of 6.95 GPM. The much-desired hydrostatic controls come with dual foot pedals and electronic cruise.
The maximum 3-point lift capacity is 1,325 lbs. The front loader’s lift capacity is the same. The max lift height of the loader is 77”, and you get a 53” bucket.
A complete subframe design sets the M25HT’s backhoe operation apart. The tractor’s seat easily swivels around for using the backhoe. You lift the seat, press the lever under it, and rotate it around to accomplish this.
The controls for the backhoe feel good to the touch. The digging depth for the backhoe is 78”.
